Welcome to Capitol Ministries Missouri.
There is much concern in the air as this country faces numerous uncertainties: a continued war, struggling economy, new administration, declining moral conscience, along with many others. But yet, for the one who knows God, there is peace. A.W. Tozer wrote, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” In other words, it is not circumstances or personality that dictate one’s decisions and actions. It is what is understood about God—His character, attributes and works—that gives ultimate guidance.
It is our desire to proclaim the greatness and glory of God inside the Missouri State Capitol. In 2009, we plan to do this by walking through Isaiah 40-48 during the legislative session and to continue in the Gospel of Mark during the interim. By exalting the majesty of God and declaring the work of Jesus Christ, we are praying that God will do mighty things in the hearts of these men and women He has placed in authority over us.
Join us in praying that our Missouri leaders will “taste and see that the LORD is good” (Psalm 34:8). Pray that each elected official, staff person and lobbyist may be drawn to a saving knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ. True wisdom, true life and true security are only found in knowing God.
Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things" declares the LORD (Jeremiah 9:23-24).
Proclaiming the greatness and glory of God.
