Biography of Jason Palermo

Jason came to Christ in 1989, after attending several college and career Bible studies in the home of a godly elder at the Evangelical Free Church of the Conejo Valley, in Newbury Park, California.

Jason found several of his preconceptions regarding Christianity challenged and eventually silenced by a few Christians who were manifesting genuine love for God, for the brethren and for their neighbors. They shared how they all fell miserably short of God’s standard of righteousness, and yet, because of the grace they had received in Christ, they had real and lasting forgiveness of sins. It was this love and forgiveness received from God that freed them to demonstrate love and forgiveness to others.

How could this be?" Jason wondered. How could people with so little common ground, have such a depth of relationship—so much joy, love and respect for one another? Jason began to understand these and many other truths as he searched God’s Word. There he found that love toward people was a normal fruit of loving God. Believers exuded joy because God had taken their sin and shame away, having laid it once and for all upon Jesus Christ on the cross.

One passage Jason remembered hearing often was, “He (God the Father) made Him (God the Son) who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). God’s call to faith in Christ was life changing.

After placing his faith in Christ, Jason noticed his life gradually changing for the better. He noticed parallels between what was happening in his life and what had happened to believers in Scripture.

Jason expressed amazement that God chose to make Himself known to all generations, to all who would seek after Him (Matthew 7: 7-11; Psalm 100: 5). Jason soon began participating in various church-planting ministries through his local church and eventually in Mexico, and after completing his bachelor of arts from The Master’s College, Eastern Europe, and Russia. These missions trips enlarged Jason’s view of God, and God’s gracious work throughout the nations, in building His church.

In His infinite wisdom, God blessed Jason with the woman of his dreams, and in 1999 he was married to Jennifer—his lovely bride. They have been blessed with two sons Elijah and Samuel, and are members of The Bible Church of Little Rock.

Jason graduated from The Master’s Seminary, in Sun Valley, California, with a master’s of divinity degree. After graduation, Jason wanted to stick with what was most important to him—making disciples, and teaching and preaching God’s Word. Accordingly, Jason is delighted to be a part of the Capitol Ministries’ team.
