Bringing the gospel to bear in the lives of the legislators who serve under the copper dome of the Arizona State Capitol is the driving passion of Capitol Ministries Arizona. Through weekly expositional Bible studies, personal evangelism and biblical counsel, I will work to strengthen the faith of the believers who serve in the Capitol and to lead others into the family of God.

Arizona is a unique state. Projected to be one of our nation’s first majority minority states and home to 10% of the country’s Native American population, Arizona will provide new obstacles to overcome in proclaiming the gospel to every political leader at every level of government every year.

Pick up a newspaper, and you’ll understand why Paul encourages people to pray evangelistically for their leaders, “so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Timothy 2:2). What is needed to bring lasting change to a government? Immigration reform? Tougher consequences for drug trafficking? A state constitutional amendment defining marriage? While these things may possibly provide a better life to a state’s citizens, the only thing that can bring a definite change is the gospel.
