Biography of Curtis Solomon

Curtis is a second generation native Arizonan. He was born in Phoenix but spent most of his life in Tucson. Curtis was blessed to be raised in a Christian home where he was exposed to the gospel early in life. Through the faithful witness of his family and the ministries of his local church, Curtis came to know the Lord at an early age. He was very involved with the AWANA ministry at his church which instilled in him a passion and high regard for the Word of God.

It was during AWANA Scholarship Camp (when he was 14) that Curtis first felt the Lord calling him into full time ministry. Other believers affirmed that call and provided many opportunities to develop the gifts the Lord had given him. He was chosen to be a student chaplain at his high school and his youth pastor also gave him many chances to teach.

In order to prepare for a life of full-time ministry, Curtis went to The Master’s College in Southern California and received a B.A. in biblical studies. Next, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky where he earned a master of divinity in Christian ministries at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Curtis joined the California Air National Guard after completing one year of college. His senior year coincided with the terrorist attack on September 11th and he was activated to support Operation Noble Eagle. While enrolled in seminary, Curtis completed his commitment to the military with the Kentucky Air National Guard. There he served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as our nation went to war in Afghanistan.

In Louisville, Curtis met Jenny Jackson who was also at seminary pursuing a desire to serve the Lord. Jenny was raised in the small town of Berryville, Arkansas where her father served as a state representative. She earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from College of the Ozarks. The Solomons married April 5, 2003. Jenny now works as a certified personal trainer, aerobics instructor and home maker.

Curtis and Jenny are excited about starting Capitol Ministries Arizona and look forward to a lifetime of service making disciples of Christ in the political arena.
