Biography of Luciano Bongarra National Director Argentina, Federal Luciano was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and comes from a family where serving the Lord and preaching the gospel are fundamentally ingrained in their culture. His father, José Bongarra, started what became the “Iglesia Transparente,” (Transparent Church) in the neighborhood of Villa Real. Luciano’s father was also the founder of seven schools across Argentina. His mother, a woman full of faith, led Luciano to accept Christ at the age of seven. Growing up in his local church he was discipled by leaders who instilled in him the Word of God and a passion for lost souls. At age seventeen he was leading Bible studies for his youth group. He was also instrumental in developing a camp ministry for Christian adolescents and youths.
Luciano has a degree in counseling from the Universidad Del Museo Social Argentino in Buenos Aires. He worked as a counselor at the Evangelical Christian School of Argentina.
Luciano and Marina were married after working together with the youth of their church. They have also hosted Bible studies in their home and in other parts of the city. They have 3 children, Constanza, Antonella and Mauro, and two grandchildren, Juana and Lorenzo.
Luciano’s passion for lost souls led him to see sports as a tool for sharing Christ. It was then that he started the ministry of Christian Athletes in Argentina and in the neighboring Republic of Uruguay. For more than ten years he has been preaching in different countries, trying to reach the leaders of these countries with the love of Christ. God has blessed Luciano’s ministry and has opened many doors for him to minister to different leaders of the continent.
